Wild Wednesday at the Hogle Zoo
You know how much I love free stuff! The zoo was free admission all day Wednesday so we went for a couple of hours before Amy had to go to Kindergarden.
Things were a little sparce because of the winter season. There were no shows and the only exhibit going on was an animal art show. Signs everywhere saying the animals were inside for the winter. It was a short and sweet visit- the kind I like.

On our way home I was saying we should make sure Katelyn can come with us next time and Amy told me that we should not go back until summer time when there was more to see.

It is great to be 8!!!!
Happy Birthday Katelyn! Eight GREAT years! We can't believe our oldest is 8 years old. You were a cute baby and you have grown to be a beautiful girl. You always add so much spice to our lives and your siblings love playing with you. You are a huge help to mom and I don't know what I would do without you. We are excited for this special birthday and your baptism to come. This is a wonderful step you are taking and we are sure your Heavenly Father is as proud of you as we are. We love you!

Our first Ski Trip!
We have finally experienced skiing! On a beautiful, frigid Saturday we loaded up the van and headed to Wolf Mountain out of Ogden. We had some people tell us it was a great place for families and kids learning to ski.

We always love some good icicles!

Briggy and I just hung out and played in the snow (I chased him all day to keep him off the ski runs). Being 8 months pregnant was bound to throw off my skiing balance . Good thing I didn't attempt anything because I ran into my doctor and her family. Mike said "busted"!

Make a pizza slice!

The man who does it all

Ty and Dad riding the "Magic Carpet". Tyler was awesome and had skiing down in no time. By the time we left he was skiing back and forth down the hill. He is so coordinated

We signed Katelyn and Amy up for beginner classes and they were great also. Here they are with their learning group.

It looks like only Mike (red jacket)riding the lift, but if you look closely you can see a little pair of skis next to his. Tyler was so nervous he baried himself into Mike's side and you can hardly see him, but Mike said he was great on the ride down!

Warming up inside with some pizza for lunch

Briggy finally took a rest

Recent Projects
I went to my most favorite craft store in the whole wide world...Ben Franklin Crafts in Kaysville. I was so excited about my projects I actually finished them all within a week of buying the supplies. A miracle!
I saw a cute wooden Valentine's Day decoration as soon as I walked in the door, but decided to wait and see if there was something I like more. As we were on our way to check out I decided to go back to the front and purchase it- all 4 were GONE!! I was so bumbed. So I had to get my saw out and cut this one from Mike's wood scraps. Ended up being the cheepest decoration b/c I had all the materials at home.

Temple Blessings

Saw this damask paper and thought it was so cute. My first time using modge podge.

I have already made these glass blocks for Christmas, but ended up giving the one I made for our family to Mike's secretary for Christmas. I made this new one with the idea that I will change the ribbon around the block to coordinate with the current holiday. I love having this "nite lite" in my kitchen.
*to drill a hole in bottom of block I used a diamond round bit on my drill. It was just big enough to out in a sting of 20 white corded lights one at a time.
