Christian: One Month Old
I took this picture of Christian at one month because it shows him holding on to my hand. Whenever I go to put his pacificier in his mouth he grabs on tightly to my hand as if saying "Please don't go". Maybe it is me just feeling so guilty for being so busy- not being able to sit and hold him as much as I did Katelyn. I so wish I could have more individual time with each of my children.

Four Generations
Today we went to my mom and dad's because my Grandma Dennkers was visiting from California. We hadn't seen her in well over four years. Since this was the first time she had met my boys we took some pictures for their baby books.

Christian was wide awake for "GG D". She even got him to smile and coo to her! If my counting is correct I think Christian is her 21st great-grandchild

Bountiful Chalk Art Weekend
The Next Avon Lady
We were getting the kids ready for bed when I walked upon this little transaction taking place in the hallway. Tyler was giving Amy $1 for a sample size of toothpoaste she had gotten from school. I asked Amy if she thought $1 was a little steep. She looked at me as if she was offended. So we carried on...

I hurried to tell Mike what I had witnessed and we got a good laugh. As he was reading books with Tyler he spoke with him about the price of the toothpaste. Tyler told Mike he knew that his sister was stealing his money, but that it was okay because he would just wait until she went to school the next day and get his dollar back out of her drawer.

Topsy Turvy Tomatoes
I am so excited about our tomatoes this year! This gadget allows the tomato plants to grow upside down and it is hanging over my deck. I was a bit bummed that we would not be able to have a garden because of all the deer that come through our yard, but then I saw this beautiful invention on the TV. Ronni and David started theirs before I did and said their plant was huge already.
We planted an Early Girl and a Cherry for the kids to snack on.
Kate's new do
Oh Deer!
Going through the normal morning chores and Amy yells, "Mom there are police cars in front of our house again." Again? These police love to be in our circle!
So I go to the window to investigate and I see that there is a sick/injured deer that they are trying to coral... into our yard. The deer is lamely walking in a circle over and over. One cop gets her by the ear and drags her onto our grass. She is resisting and so the other cop grabs her by her other ear and just about ripps it off. So I see him reach in his belt and pull out something black and I am pretty sure it was square in shape. I seriuosly thought they were going to taze the poor thing and let someone nurse it back to health.Yeah right.
He fires a shot at her back end and she goes down for a bit and I realize that my 6, 4 and 2 year olds are watching all of this. I am thirty years old and this is the first time I have seen an animal be shot. They should not be seeing this. So I see the cop aiming again and I tell them to look at me and of course they won't and he fires a shot into her chest and down she goes. I was crying. The kids were glued to the window. Tyler couldn't wait to go down and get a closer look.
The police drag her to the curb and we wait for them to leave. Our neighbor tells us the wildlife and game are going to come and pick it up. This all happened at 9am and they came and got the deer at around 4pm. This was all the kids could think about all day.

Christian's Blessing May 3, 2009
"I just want to give you a BIG HUG!"
Way to go Katelyn! Katelyn starred in the production of "Jungle Book" as Kaa the big snake. This was her first performance apart from school concerts and she was great.

Another part she had was the vultures. They were hand puppets.

Sorry the pics are so dark, we were far away, bad lighting and she was always moving too fast. We did get a lot of great pics of the back of Briggy's huge melon
