Halloween 2011

There was NO school on Monday Oct 31... HALLOWEEN!!!

So we went to Gardner Village, went trick or treating in downtown Bountiful, had our annual spooky dinner and then went out to scour the neighborhood for candy.

This year we started up the hill near the house where two very cute boys that our daughters have huge crushes on live (the LeFevres).

The weather couldn't have been any better.

The LOOT- I think this year sets an all time record!

Toot Little naughty .. I mean nice Puppy

the Lovely Smurfette

Batman

Awesome Girl

Daddy's Kitty Kitty

Jessie gettin' Jiggy

6 months old and this girl is on the move. I will say if someone stuck me on a leather sofa in footed fleece jammies I would be slippin' and slidin' too.
This is typically what happens now when we set Jessie down somewhere. She loves to go after remotes, iPods and phones!!

Witches, witches and more witches

We took our annual jaunt down to visit the ladies at Gardner Village. Always so fun to see how they display the witches and all the fun Halloween decor.

School Halloween Parade

This is always an exciting event for the kids at our school. The principal really gets into it! This year she was Ursula (from Little Mermaid) and the office secretaries were those little gray sea creatures that had made a deal with her. It was awesome!
Right at the beginning of school the kids put on a parade through the cafeteria for their families. It is so fun to see what all the kids have dressed up for Halloween!
Tyler was a football player.

Tyler with his 1st Grade Class

Katelyn and her 5th grade friends. Katelyn was an "Awesome person". I think she has lost the Halloween spirit.

Amy and her 3rd grades friends. Amy was Smurfette.

UEA Halloween Rec Center Party

We had a small crew for the Rec Center Party this year! Mike took an insistent Brigham through the "big kids" haunted hallway. There was a girl about the age of 11 balling her eyes out at the entrance and an employee ensuring her that nothing was real inside there or nothing would hurt her family while they were in there. That made Briggy more excited to go in. He is our child that has no fear of running away.

Then we fished ducks out of the lazy river. Walked around and looked at a lot of other games. As we were walking Christian held real tight to our legs especially when someone in a mask was approaching.

The boys loved the doughnut on a string.

Is this picture great or what? You can see the bean bag almost ready to knock down the owl. This was after I had already been hit in the face because of standing where I was for a good pic. I think Jessie might have gotten hit too.

The best of the evening was the ride through the creepy swamp. The boys saw a mermaid.

Pumpkins!!

I put it off to long and we had a wild, wild night of pumpkins!
Choosing, hauling (2 carts), buying, designing, gutting and finally... CARVING!!
They turned out pretty good!

Christian had a knife in one hand and was hammering it with a spoon in his other hand.

UEA 10.21.-10.23

For the UEA holiday Katelyn, Amy and Tyler headed down south with Grammy and Papa D and Mac & Hadley. They had a great time in and around Escalante, Utah.

Typical 2 Year Old

It is only 10am and Christian is in his third change of clothes... and he can't exactly dress himself!! I remember this stage with Katelyn. Back then I had plenty of room in the house to put most of her clothes out of reach. I can't do that with Christian. I tried once and he went and raided Brigham's clothes.

I stuff his clothes back into his drawer multiple times a day.

He has to have new clothes for every new activity he decides to do. When we are going out in public he insists on PJs and when it is cold outside he insists on shorts. Typical 2 year old!

Preschool to The Zoo 10.10.11

We went with Brigham and his preschool class to the Hogle Zoo.
He had a great time with his friends and teacher, Mrs. Eggett.

Brigham and his good friend Rachel

Jessie is good to be toted around to all her siblings activities. She liked seeing the elephants

Who's kid is that on top of the water fountain?

Brigham was most excited to see the giraffes and the tigers. Turned out the elderly ape took quite a liking to him.

The Car Graveyard 10.9.11

When Brigham and I were looking through old pictures he saw when we first went to the "car graveyard" and wanted to go back. So after church one Sunday we headed up by the "B" on the mountain to hike up to the cars.

We don't know how exactly all the cars, trucks, snowmobiles, bikes, grocery carts and various appliances crashed down the gorge, but it sure is fun to imagine. The downside is most of the kiddie slept in our room that night because of bad dreams. Who said driving off a cliff wasn't scary!
I remember when Mike and I were first married and we took Jodi and Jill up in the Jeep on the same road and Jodi cried because she was scared we were going to fall off the road down into the gorge.

So we stay safe and hike up the creek to see the destruction.
