Updates...

Since I am a total slacker with blogging lately I am going to through all things random happenings into one most so we can look back and remember when.

Christian has pretty much potty trained

Amy and Riley have been inseperable this summer

Been visiting with Grandma Midge. I even got to fishtail braid her long hair one day. I have always loved to play with my grandma's hair.
Brigham has been having bad night terrors! Not sure what is causing it. Maybe nervous about Kindergarten. Maybe it has to do with watching Power Rangers all day everyday. This particular night I found him screaming in the kitchen trying to put another shirt on over the one he already had on. It seemed I had calmed him down and got him back into bed. Mike woke up in the morning and saw him here asleep on the stairs with no shirt on.
Made another car seat cover.
When we came home from Blanding we found our daddy rouen and a female mallard dead in the pond along with all Mike's pond pipes torn up and floating in the pond. Also a male mallard hand a hurt wing and another female had some damage to her hind feathers. We suspect a dog. Anywho it was real sad for Katelyn. She has lost many ducks in the past year and she has been good to bury all in this graveyard.

It couldn't have been better timing than on Sept. 11th we had our old Mama Rouen hatch 13 babies and K hatched one more for her later that night.
I found this little guy still by the nest. Turns out he is blind.. for now. We are hoping he is just a late developer, but we are going to hang on to him either way.
Then on Sept 17th we had another Mama hatch 11 babies.
Thats is a total of 25 new ducklings!! 32 ducks in our backyard right now!!

1st Day of School

Thanks to grandma for fixing a yummy breakfast and for taking all these wonderful pictures!

Dad bestowing his wisdom on the new students or teasing them about their new clothes
One of my Homies! Christian was still asleep

Can you believe 4 chillins in the same school? 6th, 4th, 2nd and Kindergarten!

What a handsome/ darling group of children... all ready to learn!
or maybe not...

No!!! Please don't go...

Too bad Grandma didn't catch me soaking my feet popping some Bon Bons!

Labor Day Weekend

We also went down to Blanding for Maggie's baptism. It was a great occasion and the Lord rewarded cute Maggie with rainbows right after she was baptized. It was special!

Everyone all dressed up

Daver enjoying the Sabbath

We went up Sunday evening to have a devotional and practice shooting the bows. Came upon several good buck as we were driving up but they spooked when they heard the van door open.

Telling Grandpa a scary story

Labor Day Weekend- Four Corners

While the guys were up on the mountain some of us headed down to see Four Corners. I was the only one that had been there. Not even Marcia had been.

I knew they had recalculated the exact point and redone the marker since I had been there last. I was way impressed with the new Four Corners.
Christian was there being a pill

Excited that they still had the Indian peddlers there too.

Grandma was teaching Tyler how to take a good picture.

Jessie posing for Grandma

We stopped in Bluff and Twin Rocks Cafe for some yummy lunch

It was sunny the whole trip and then on our way back to Blanding we came upon a freak hail storm. It was so bad Lori had to pull off because there was NO visibility. It was a bit scary, but we made it back safe and sound.

Labor Day Weekend- Bow Hunt

Mike and his brothers drew out for the bow hunt this year down in San Juan County on The Blues. Mike had been so excited. He and Tyler had been practicing their bows and anticipating this event all summer.
Curtis had the camp all set up when we got down there to Blanding. The boys headed up the mountain.

Mike said this first morning was the prettiest sun rise. The colors were vibrant!

They saw lots of turkeys and saw some bucks.

Curtis is a regular Rrrrrobinhood (get your r's a rolling)! He split his own arrow. Pretty cool!

RV-ing It

For quite awhile Mike had been itching to do a trip in an RV. To tell you the truth so had I. We used to head up the mountain in my aunt and uncle's motor home and I had such a good time when I was young. When Dan and Mike came up with the plan an RV sounded like a great idea.

To Prepare for the trip we got the DVD "RV" starring Robin Williams. If you haven't seen it we highly recommend -RV experience or not! Pretty funny stuff!
We were hoping for the opposite experiences of the Munro family.

"We got a new van and it even has a potty in it!"-Christian

Yes, it did have a potty and a good shower and both got used.

We had most of our meals in the RV. Full kitchen really. Even a microwave for Briggy's chicken nuggets. It was great to have all our snacks right there with us.

The first night we stayed at Ft Stevens Park. Come to find out there was a small camper part of the park and a large RV part. naturally we had reserved a spot in the smaller camper part so when we came rolling in with our big rig we turned a lot of heads. Daniel parked that thing "like a glove" and even left room for the pop out.
The next morning we were still the spectacle when pulling out for our next big adventure. While we were gone during the day we got some new neighbors and they were speechless when Daniel pulled in again with his exhaust pipe about 2 inches from the front door of their tent. Good times!

We pulled out all the beds and laid down the foam mattresses when it was time to sleep. So sad I didn't get a picture of all the carnage, but there wasn't really place to step! It was nice for the kids to nap while we were traveling to our next adventure.

It was fun being all together!

Thank goodness for all the electronic devices that entertained us!
