Playing in the Snow

It has been a really mild winter here in Utah. So mild it is scary... we NEED water!
It finally came in the form of the wonderful white, fluffy stuff!
The snow plow cleans our circle up and plows huge piles of snow right to our curb. It all makes for great snow caves!

JNB: 9 Months

Jessie has made some big strides in this her- ninth month!
First tooth
Pulls up on everything
Crawls everywhere
Finally takes a bottle
Doesn't eat baby mush/food anymore
Loves reading/chewing books
Is my broom chaser
She is a happy little baby and always smiling!
Loves her Daddy

We are always having "mama" "dada" wars!
I have only had two babies to say "mama" first Christian and Jessie. The older four kids said "dada" first.
"If I had a nickle for every time you said my name I would be RICH!" Did you ever hear your mom say that to you when you were growing up? My mom said it all the time and I say it now to my kids. I think that because my older kids are always saying "mom, mom, mom, mom" all day long that the younger babies have made it their first word!

Sliding backwards across the kitchen floor. This time she was crying because she got trapped under the chairs.

Catching a glimpse of the cat is a real treat for Jessie. One afternoon she had been sleeping for a loooong time so I went to check on her to make sure she was still asleep. When I got to her room there she was asleep and Shorttail was laying next to her. Keeping watch I guess. This has since happened a couple of times.

She likes it when C takes her for a ride in his car. You can often see her "bouncin" to his car tunes.

I had run upstairs to get something and left Chris and Jess in the basement and here comes Christian saying "Mom- Jessie wants you bad". I wash my hands and go to the stairs and she is just one step from the top. She climbed the WHOLE stairs! Time to get the baby gate up!

Awkward Family Photo

New Years Day (Observed)
No work!! No school! Let's play...
with our Christmas toys!!!!

Can you do the temple and guns in the same picture?

We decided to take the hike that goes above the Bountiful Temple. There is an area up a ways where kids have set up a paint ball course. There are shelters and all sorts of obstacles that made a great place to shoot the air soft guns.
Of course, Mike and I had to shoot each other to see how bad it hurt. Then the kids wanted to be shot.

Jess and I hiked up a little more and got a good view of the valley and the inversion.

Amy collected lots of unbroken paint balls. She squeezed one a little too hard and it squished on her face. Ooops

Mike played capture the flag with the older kids.

Every good family outing ends with a trip to Chuck A Rama!!

New Year's Eve

Not a better way to say Goodbye to 2011 and Hello to 2012!
We had family over for some games and goodies. Thanks for the Hospitality Bar Mike!

I was having so fun much that I didn't take any pictures of the game playing. Dang it! So I was not able to document Jill's victorious win at Mexican Train!

We might have to make this game night a tradition!
David was able to join us after he slaved away all day at Wallgrins.
Anticipating 2012 to be awesome!

THE COUNTDOWN!!

Getting the bubbly ready! This is how Mormons get crazy on New Years- root beer, orange soda and some sparkling grape juice!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
This is the first time we haven't gone to bed before 9pm on New Years.

You gotta bring in the New Year with kissing your honey

Time for bed!

Christmas 2011

We were able to get our house decorated early for Christmas this year. We had everything up before Thanksgiving. It was wonderful!!
We had a good year with the Christmas tree because Christian was old enough to understand to leave it alone and Jessie wasn't big enough or mobile enough to pull everything off of it.

Katelyn got a camera from my parents for Christmas and this is her picture she took of our tree.

katelyn helped me wrap a lot of the family presents this year and the boys were constantly bugging her to try to get a peek. The next morning I found this under the tree on one of Tyler's presents.

Christmas begins with everyone lining up on the stairs in order of age.
I love the genuine smiles in this picture!
