FHE: Bowling

How many "stripes" do I have?

Was a question we were asked many times on Monday by Brigham. No matter how many times we told him they were called "Strikes" the little guy could not get it. He was so toot though- we didn't mind. Turns out our kids are bowlers like their dad- not their mom. Brigham tripled my score in the first game and then we won't even talk about my score in the second game.

Amy and Mike tied in the second game for 104.

I think a great time was had by all!

Christian behaved surprisingly well. Mike let him bowl with him the first try and he was done after that. Kates giving him a high five.

JNB: 4 Months

Jess is growing like a "kitty, kitty"!
16.2 lbs 93%
25 in 77%
She loves to be sitting up, loves the Bumbo so she can see what all the noise is around her. Has started squealing. She knows she has to speak up if she wants to be heard around here. Sleeps through the night! Finally on our sixth baby! Lights up when she sees her daddy.
We are so lucky to have such a happy girl.

We have tried a bottle a couple of times, but she will not take one. So we tried cereal a couple of times and most of it was spit out. We will keep trying!

Jill is gettin' hitched

We had a modest bridal shower up narth for Jill to celebrate her upcoming mawridge to Michael. It was a tough crowd, but I think we all had some fun.

There were some of her friends from work, a couple of wardies, couple of roomies (including Jodi), couple of fambilies and a couple of squishy babies.

>

We played a game where you tried to figure out what was in the bag by touching only.

Katelyn did a game where we had to remember details about the way Jill looked once she left the room. I had asked Michael some questions earlier and we asked Jill the same questions. If she got the answer wrong she had to chew a gumball. She was about 50/50 on the questions.

Amy had a great time stuffing her with blue gum balls especially.

We had everyone write some advice on a card and she read them aloud before opening her presents. She got some great advice and some great gifts!

Kaye took over Kellie's job in her absence.

I think Jodi had the best gift! It got the most laughs and truth be told it will probably get used the most. Yes folks, look closely, those are "poopies", teddy bears, and kitty cats on that nighty.

Yummy spread! Thanks for letting me borrow your "friends" Ronni.

Jill had been working hard all week to get her apartment looking pretty and it did look fabulous!

Cherry Hill 8.10.11

The kids had been wanting to go to Cherry Hill all summer and I found some half price tickets on KSL so it was time.
We loved it. It was the perfect size park that I didn't feel to stretched between the kids. Christian, Jessie and I stayed together while everyone else came and went.

Katelyn, Amy and Tyler loved Cataract Canyon.

Briggy could have stayed all day at the lazy river. At closing, he was still there helping gather the tubes for the lifeguards.

Katelyn took Christian down the dragon slide. He said he didn't like going fast.

Christian's favorite was Pirate's Cove. He went on the kiddie slide a hundred times- by himself- while I waited at the "bottom".

We give Cherry Hill FIVE STARS!!! Lots of fun for a great price!

Water Down Below

Brian and Joce Wikle came to visit just in time... to save us from our flood.
I was outside tinkering in the garage when lo and behold the Wikles from Texas pull up. It was good to see them and their adorable kids.

I was showing them the improvements on our house and when we were headed down to visit the basement we spotted water and mud at the bottom of the stairs. After much investigating found out we had a busted sprinkler and that morning's cycle and filled the basement window well and it had been trickling into the basement.

Unfortunately Brian and Joce had experience in flooding, but lucky for me they knew exactly what to do.

Brian got everything out of the wet rooms and we got the pad thrown away and the carpet up to dry. My VTs and neighbors had fans over in a jiffy and we were drying out. I was able to save the carpet with a lot of shopvaccing and fans.

The carpet guys came Monday and put it all back together Yeah!!

Random Summer Happenings

Every morning Katelyn asks me how many days are left until school begins. I guess I should love this time she is excited to go to school. IN between activities and chores the kids play funny things around the house. Here are a few more pictures I have discovered on our iPods.

Who knew 3-D glasses would provide so much entertainment!

Watched movies and then recreated the characters or remade the movie. Here is Amy as Nanny McPhee. We recommend seeing Nanny McPhee Returns.

Worked a lot on the house and kitchen.

We have gone swimming at the neighbor's new pool, the Rec Center and Amanda's pool.

Chase turkeys

Smurf Mania

The kids have been excited for the Smurf's movie to come to theatres.
They have been collecting the Happy Meal Smurf toys from McDonalds. Buying plush Smurfs. Watching the trailers on YouTube and playing "Smurfs". Katelyn was playing around with some game on the iPod and was excited about the pictures she created.

Church Art Museum 7.29.11

We heard there was a new exhibit down at the museum. It was so much fun!
There were so many beautiful, delicate quilts on display.

We learned about Lehi taking his family to the promised land and got to explore his ship and fish from it. We learned about temples that were built in ancient times.
We gave it a try at lifting the gold plates.

Amy tried her hand at translating the plates. They had lots of computer games and puzzles that were really fun. There was a section all about missionary work and about our friends from South America. For about an hour the kids dressed up in Mariachi outfits and practiced dancing.

We had a great time and as we always do when we are in downtown we stopped by for some lunch and slushies at Sonic

Love A Good Summer Rainstorm

Happy Pioneer Day!

We love pioneers and we love lots of candy so that's why we go to the 24th of July Parade!!

The boys liked the big noisy trucks and candy and the girls liked all the cheerleader and dancers and free handouts.

This year we had Eliza, Porter and Jesse join us for the festivties. Amanda and Robbie came to help us out too. Mike and I went early in the morning to get us a spot, but it turned out to be in the sun anyway. We had lots of liquid and water guns to cool us off, but it was still too hot!
After the parade we went up to Mueller Park for some dinner, "parkin'" and fireworks. It was a great day!
